Welcome to Hale House, a 4-Star Award-winning, eco-friendly boutique bed & breakfast set in a beautiful rural setting on the outskirts of the market town of Wendover and the Chilterns.
We always try and greet our guest with a smile and home-made cake or biscuits with a fresh pot of tea or coffee whatever your arrival time.
We are passionate about sustainable living and the quality of everything we offer. The B&B has achieved a 4-star Gold rating and a Rose Award from Visit England for Service Excellence and also scores 9.9 on Booking.com. In addition the house has the highest level of eco-perfomance acknowledged in it receiving ‘Passivhaus’ status.
We source top quality local and home-made produce wherever we can to ensure that you have the very best breakfast we can offer.
All our toiletries are organic and our cleaning products are eco-friendly minimizing the risk to allergy sufferers.
The en suite bedrooms are bright, airy and spacious - hopefully providing everything you could possibly need for a relaxing & comfortable stay.
The rooms, with king or super kingsize beds, are very versatile and we can accommodate guests in groups of 1/2/3 or 4 – they all have large screen wi-fi, 4G TV, fridges, refreshment facilities and hairdryers. We also have a ground floor bedroom with a private bathroom alongside which are both wheelchair friendly.
We only use pure cotton sheets, hypoallergenic duvets and pillows, warm soft towels and robes along with luxury British-made toiletries (paraben and SLS free) will ensure that you feel pampered & relaxed throughout your stay.
Rooms are serviced daily where guests are staying for several nights.

Our mouth watering breakfasts, achieving a special VisitBritain Breakfast Award, are served in the airy dining room with views out over the garden. On sunny mornings we can serve you on the garden terrace.
With professional catering backgrounds, we pride ourselves on offering a very special breakfast to all our guests whether your preference is for a light continental or a full cooked breakfast. Treat yourself to our homemade preserves, our prize wining honey from our own bees and top quality locally sourced ingredients. We are very happy to cater for all tastes and diets including 100% gluten free and vegan options.
By virtue of its geography, sitting in a gap in the Chiltern Hills and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wendover has much to offer visitors wishing to explore the local area. Only 100 metres from the Ridgeway National Trail we can provide a fantastic base for walkers. In addition, here are 33 miles of public rights of way, cycle trails and bridleways criss-crossing the Wendover parish, including walks along the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal. For the energetic, Wendover Woods are a perfect playground for all sorts of adventure and activity.
It's a short drive to Tring with its historic links to the Rothschild family; to Great Missenden with its Roald Dahl Museum and to Princes Risborough so long associated with furniture making from local beech wood.
Evening meals are not provided at Hale House but there is a multiplicity of local eateries that will appeal to all tastes and budgets are located within a short walk.
All rooms have a comprehensive information file providing information about local places of interest and eateries. We also have a library of maps and books on local history, walks etc in our garden-facing sitting room.
With direct links to London by road and rail, this is an ideal base for a truly relaxing break or a convenient location for a very comfortable business stay.

There is easy access to Wendover via the Chilterns train line or vehicular access from A41 or the A413.
We are happy to collect guests from the train station or from local access points along the Ridgeway Trail.
Off road parking is available for guests.
